Calling in to visit is worth while. We called in for afternoon tea where we had milkshakes and strawberry cheese Cake, both were very enjoyable. They have a lot of choices, and they cater for breakfast and lunch. There is a lot of room to sit at tables with red chairs and enjoy your food.

There is a big area where you can take a wander to and see different flavored jams in a variety of sizes. As well as other products made from strawberries and other local produce. It is also the visitor information centre.

The Big Strawberry offers a memorable experience that celebrates the beauty and bounty of Victoria’s countryside. As visitors marvel at its larger-than-life presence, they’re reminded of the simple joys found in nature’s bounty and the enduring spirit of rural life in Australia.

Minyip- BIG Wheat & Seeds

Minyip is where the TV series “The Flying Doctor” was filmed. When you drive through the town you can still see the buildings used for the making of the series.

Swan Hill- Big Murray Cod

As we stand amidst the picturesque landscape of Swan Hill, our gaze is captivated by the magnificent Murray Cod Structure that proudly stands as a testament to the region’s rich cultural heritage and natural wonders.

Built-in 1991 for the filming of the Australian movie “Eight Ball.” It has a wooden frame and then covered with fibreglass. After filming the nicknamed structure, Arnold was donated to the Swan Hill Community.

This colossal sculpture serves not only as a striking artistic marvel but also as a symbol of the deep connection between the community and the Murray River, which has been a lifeline for generations.

Murray Cod- Swan Hill- Big Things Victoria

The sculpture is a tribute to the Murray Cod’s importance in the ecosystem and highlights Swan Hill’s identity as a riverside community. Visitors to Swan Hill often marvel at the sheer size and lifelike details of the sculpture, which has become a beloved landmark and a popular photo opportunity for tourists exploring the area.

Helpful Tip- Beside the Big Cod is a BBQ area and Picnic Table. There is also an area on the other side of the train station car park is an area to park a caravan and car. It also a short walk to cafes and the shopping centre. Across the road is the ALDI supermarket.

Ulupna- BIG Kookaburra And BIG Eagle

Leaving from Koonoomoo out towards Ulupna and the Murray River, you will come across private property where the owner has erected a large Kookaburra and an Eagle at one of the main entrances.

As we were traveling out there, on a dirt road, we came across a local moving sheep along the road. We stopped and had a talk with him, and he was happy to share information about the local area and about the large structures and the different fence that went along the road. There were other large structures further along the same property.

As we drove further along we came across the National Park. We drove a bit further but it was a rough dirt track and you would need to be driving a 4WD to get through. We reached a fence and had to back track.

Warracknabeal- Sheep And Sheep Dog

When driving past Warracknabeal, if time permits it is worth taking a detour down to the main street. On the highway there is a large roadhouse, where you can take a break. Fuel up the car and there is plenty of options for refreshments or a sit down meal. Beside the fuel station is the road down to the main street. Here you will find a couple of roundabouts with Sheep and a sheep dog.
