When in Broome we spent the morning shopping in Chinatown. It is well worth doing as the streets and shop fronts are very unique. There were a lot of lovely shops and plenty of places to eat. The many different Pearl Jewelry shops with different pearls and price ranges, worth a look, but if wanting to purchase any be prepared for the cost.
Chinatown is the ideal place to shop for exquisite pearls. Numerous pearl showrooms offer a wide range of jewelry, from classic to contemporary designs, making it a perfect spot for those seeking a unique and timeless souvenir.

We went on a bus tour in the afternoon, it picked us up from where we were staying and showed some of the sites of Broome. The first part of the trip we went back to Chinatown where we walked around to different attractions.
1/ Broome Outdoor Cinema
The Broome Outdoor Cinema is a beloved and iconic entertainment venue located in the vibrant town of Broome, Western Australia. Offering a unique and tropical movie-watching experience, it has become a popular destination for both locals and tourists.
The Broome Outdoor Cinema is famous for its open-air setting, allowing visitors to enjoy films under the vast Kimberley skies. Guests can relish the warm, balmy evenings while watching their favorite movies on the big screen.
We were able to go inside and see the seating and look around the old cinema and different artifacts of times gone by.
2/ Pearl Luggers Museum
We walked through the streets of Chinatown to the Pearl Luggers Museum, where our guide took us to see a Pearl lugger Sailing boat. We were shown a video of what it was like back when they walked the Ocean floor looking for oysters. It was hard work and with only short breaks between each dive, there were a lot of divers that died.

Continuing on the bus tour around Broome, our next stop was Matso’s Brewery for beer testing and light refreshments. There was a nice atmosphere and I even had a taste of the Matso’s Mango Beer.

This was our last stop of the tour. We got the deck chairs out and sat on the beach with our drinks and nibbles to watch the sunset. It was a great way to end the day with a lot of talking and listening to the other tourists stories.
